DESCRIPTION
Established in 2005, Catalina Sounds set out to produce some of Marlborough’s finest white wines, in the very heart of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc country. Their flagship vineyard lies in the Waihopai Valley, in the north of the South Island, where the cool climate and long hours of sunshine deliver perfect aromatic ripeness while preserving natural, vibrant acidity.
Paying tribute to the Catalina, the legendary South Pacific seaplane, this wine charms with notes of lemongrass, citrus, passion fruit, and a subtle herbal touch. The palate is lively and saline, with a crystalline finish that lingers beautifully.
Praised by critics (95 pts Bob Campbell & Wine Orbit) and offering excellent value, this expressive white wine is perfect as an aperitif or paired with oysters, ceviche, grilled fish, or summer salads.

Marlborough
New Zealand
Marlborough is by far the most important wine region in New Zealand. At the northeast tip of the South Island, this dry, sunny region is home to over 500 estates and produces nearly 75% of New Zealand wine. Its warm days, cool nights and well drained alluvial soils create ideal conditions for aromatic wines with crystalline acidity.
This is where the Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc style that won over the world was born: vibrant, intensely fruity, with a herbaceous touch and saline minerality. While Sauvignon Blanc dominates, Marlborough also produces excellent Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Riesling, confirming its place as the international showcase of New Zealand wine.

I was really surprised by the exotic fruit notes, especially passion fruit—something I had never tasted before. I recommend this wine with fresh fish, like ceviche, or other seafood.
