Founded over 150 years ago, the Henschke family is one of the most respected winemaking dynasties in South Australia. Now in its sixth generation, led by husband and wife Stephen and Prue Henschke, the estate embodies a rare expertise: caring for the land so that it reveals the very best of its fruit.
The Keyneton Euphonium 2021 is a perfect illustration of this philosophy. Deep crimson with vibrant ruby hues, this blend of Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot — sourced from the Barossa and Eden Valleys — offers a generous and complex nose: blackberry, blackcurrant, plum, blueberry, anise and violet, with hints of black pepper, cedar and eucalyptus. The palate is rich and concentrated, carried by ripe, velvety tannins, a bright and balanced acidity and an excellent length.
Best enjoyed with braised meats, a roast leg of lamb, aged hard cheeses or spiced and caramelised vegetables.
