Henschke Peggy's Hill Riesling 2024 is named in reference to an iconic summit in the Eden Valley. Sourced from vines aged 10 to 70 years old, rooted in low-fertility soils at altitudes of 400 to 500 meters. Harvested between late February and early March 2024, fermented in stainless steel tanks, and quickly bottled to preserve all the finesse and delicate fruit of the grape variety. It features 11.5% alcohol, a pH of 2.90, and 6.83 g/L of total acidity.
On the nose, floral aromas of lemon, almond blossom, jasmine, and chamomile over notes of lime. On the palate, lively and crisp with a refreshing acidity leading to a long and elegant finish. Pairs with cod or grilled salmon, sushi, sashimi, or lightly spiced Thai or Vietnamese dishes. Aging potential of 20 years and more.
Australia
Eden Valley is located in the Barossa and is recognised as one of the world’s great Riesling regions, and one of Australia’s premier cool climate wine regions. Eden Valley wines are distinctive in their character, displaying wonderful aromatics, elegance, complexity and finesse. With a wine making history dating back to 1847, Eden Valley is home to some of the world’s oldest Shiraz and Riesling vineyards. Traditional grape growing continues with a focus on sustainability, with fifth and sixth generations of the original settlers continuing to operate their family wineries.
