House of Arras Grand Vintage 2013 is a blend of 62% Chardonnay and 38% Pinot Noir from Tasmania (Derwent Valley, Coal River Valley, East Coast, and Pipers River). Crafted using the traditional method, with 10% fermented in new French oak barrels, then aged for seven years on lees. It features 12.5% alcohol, pH 3.02, and 7.7 g/L of total acidity. Aging potential of 10 years and more.
On the nose, an airy and complex bouquet with white flowers, citrus, lychee, and oyster shell. On the palate, elegant, complex, and balanced, supported by very fine and persistent bubbles. Ideal pairing with oysters, shrimp, or crustaceans, or a grilled sea bass with herbs.
Australia
Tasmania is an Australian state located 199 km south-east of the mainland. The 42nd parallel, which crosses the country in the middle, makes this Australia’s coolest region. In terms of climate, as the ocean surrounds the island on all sides, it is both oceanic and temperate. Unlike their mainland counterparts, Tasmanian wines are not as full-bodied and warm. Similar to their European cousins, specifically the French and German, their vineyards are cool. In fact, the northern part of the island produces aromatic Rieslings and Pinot Gris and sparkling wines that just keep getting better and better. Meanwhile, the plains and the south of the island cultivate excellent Chardonnays, Gewurztraminer and Pinot Noir.
William - Local Nose
Highly complex thanks to its seven years on lees. It easily rivals good Champagnes.
