DESCRIPTION
Kanonkop Kadette Cape Blend 2022 blends Pinotage (33%), Cabernet Sauvignon (32%), Merlot (31%), Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot (2% each). A Stellenbosch wine that keeps Pinotage at the heart of the blend, true to Cape tradition.
After malolactic fermentation, it is aged for 12 months in older French Nevers oak barrels. The oak stays discreet and lets the fruit speak.
Deep ruby in colour. The nose opens with cassis, raspberry, cherry and black plum, with hints of cinnamon, spice and chocolate. The palate is lively and fresh, with summer red fruit, carried by firm, silky tannins through to a long, savoury finish.
