History
The family estate of La Coume du Roy, founded around 1850 and passed down through six generations, preserves one of the greatest treasures of old Maury vintages. The 1939 is a wine of history, a witness to the beginning of World War II. Placed in cask during a troubled era, it has journeyed through more than eight decades to deliver today a unique testimony of time.
Vinification
Made primarily from Grenache, this Maury Doré was fortified on the skins to preserve its natural sugars before undergoing exceptional oxidative aging in small oak casks and glass demijohns. After 86 years, the angel’s share has shaped a rare wine of remarkable concentration and incomparable intensity.
Tasting Notes
Its deep amber color reflects its great age. The nose reveals notes of cocoa, walnut, and noble rancio, with a touch of roasted coffee. On the palate, it is broad and silky, unveiling profound depth and an endless finish. A wine of meditation par excellence, it pairs beautifully with a fine cigar, a dark chocolate dessert, or aged blue cheeses.

France
