Originally from the Abruzzo region of Italy, the Mitolo family emigrated to Australia in the 1950s, bringing with them an unwavering work ethic and a deep connection to the land. Embodying the Abruzzo motto - forte e gentile (strong and gentle) - their Italian-Australian heritage sits at the heart of their quest to create remarkable wines, full of character and elegance.

Mescia, meaning 'blend' in the Abruzzo dialect, is Mitolo's most personal wine. A bold assemblage: 67% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Sangiovese, 11% Montepulciano, each variety vinified separately before meticulous blending trials. The 2022 vintage, cool and vibrant with crisp nights, delivers rare floral elegance. On the nose, delicate red and black fruits, rose petal, violet, balsamic notes. The palate is silky and deep, carried by fine mineral tannins and an acidity that draws the finish endlessly long.
