DESCRIPTION
Otronia Pinot Noir 2021 comes from a rigorous selection of plots from the Paico and Sierra Silva vineyards, in the heart of Sarmiento in Patagonia. The grapes, harvested in mid-March, fermented in French oak casks with 50% whole clusters. The wine was aged for 22 months in untoasted French oak foudres, preserving the fineness, aromatic purity, and identity of the Patagonian landscape. Alcohol 13%, pH 3.5, TA 5.85, residual sugar 2.22 g/L. The Otronia estate, founded in 2008 in Sarmiento, Chubut, Argentina, was born in a region previously untouched by vineyards. Managed by winemaker Juan Pablo Murgia, it achieved immediate success from its very first harvest in 2017. The estate maintains an organic approach and adapts to the region's climate challenges. Otronia is now recognized as the flagship producer of Chubut, Patagonia.
On the nose, fine and deep, marked by fresh red fruits, floral notes, and a subtle spicy touch. On the palate, elegant and straight, with a silky texture, beautiful freshness, and a long, precise, and mineral finish. It pairs well with free-range poultry with morels or a thin mushroom and thyme tart. Serve at 14°C. Aging potential of 5 to 8 years.

Malbec, the king grape variety, offers a fresher and more elegant style there than in the rest of the country, alongside Pinot Noir, Merlot and crystalline whites.
