DESCRIPTION
Otronia 45 Rugientes Pinot Noir 2022 comes from the selection and blending of several lots of Pinot Noir from the Sierra Silva and Paico vineyards in Patagonia, harvested between late February and late March 2022. Fermentation took place in concrete tanks with varying percentages of whole clusters (10 to 50%). The wine was then aged for 20 to 22 months in untoasted French oak foudres and concrete tanks. Alcohol 12.5%, pH 3.42, TA 6.0, residual sugar 1.8 g/L. The Otronia estate, founded in 2008 in Sarmiento, Chubut, Argentina, was born in a region previously untouched by vineyards. Managed by winemaker Juan Pablo Murgia, it achieved immediate success from its very first harvest in 2017. The estate maintains an organic approach and adapts to the region's climate challenges. Otronia is now recognized as the flagship producer of Chubut, Patagonia.
On the nose, a delicate and fresh profile of fresh red fruits, flowers, and subtle nuances of sweet spices. On the palate, supple and elegant, supported by a lively acidity, concluding with a long and harmonious finish with delicate mineral notes. It pairs well with fish in sauce or grilled (trout or salmon) and Portobello mushrooms. Aging potential of 5 to 8 years.

Under the Patagonia Argentina appellation, three zones stand out: Río Negro for its elegant wines, Neuquén for their power, and Chubut, the southernmost, for their aromatic freshness. Malbec, the king grape variety, offers a fresher and more elegant style there than in the rest of the country, alongside Pinot Noir, Merlot and crystalline whites.
