William Downie Gippsland Pinot Noir 2024 is crafted by William Downie, an artisan winemaker renowned for his Pinot Noirs from great Victorian terroirs. It features 13.5% alcohol. Aging potential of 15 to 20 years.
On the nose, a floral and energetic nose, revealing aromas of black plum, acacia, fresh cherry, and wild berries. On the palate, structured and highly precise, where the richness of the fruit blends perfectly with spicy notes on a long and elegant finish. Pairing with Peking duck or a roasted veal tenderloin.
Australia
The Gippsland region is located in the southern part of Australia, to the east of the Melbourne suburbs in the state of Victoria. The total vineyard area covers 187ha and harvests mostly Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Shiraz. This region has a number of microclimates, which contribute to the elegance and structure of the various styles of grape cultivated in the area. The white wines are particularly aromatic. Meanwhile, the south of Gippsland Pinot Noir is known throughout Australia as being one of the best on the market. While its attack is fine, there is a length and intensity to it.
Anne Sarine - Local Nose
An honest and very pleasant Gippsland Pinot.
