Yarra Yering Pinot Noir 2018 is crafted by Yarra Yering, one of the oldest estates in the Yarra Valley, founded in 1969 by Dr. Bailey Carrodus. Pinot Noir from vines planted in 1969. Aged for 10 months in French oak barrels (30% new). Cellaring potential of 10 years.
On the nose, violet with cherry aromas mingled with a pinch of aniseed spice. On the palate, silky, elegant, and structured with fine tannins. Pairs with duck breast or beef carpaccio.
Australia
The Yarra Valley is a well-respected Australian wine region that occupies the eastern half of the Port Phillip viticultural zone, in the diminutive state of Victoria. At complete odds with the usual, hot and dry Shiraz-growing image of Australia, Yarra Valley is best known for its bright, complex wines made from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
Katja - Local Nose
Fresh cherry, undergrowth, and fine tannins. A Pinot that speaks of its terroir without effort.
