DESCRIPTION
Château de Rochemorin belongs to the André Lurton family, one of the most respected names in the Bordeaux region. It spans 21.5 hectares in the heart of the Pessac-Léognan appellation, situated on deep gravel ridges with limestone outcrops at the base of the slopes. The vines, with an average age of 13 years, are double Guyot pruned, and the 2023 harvest took place from August 28 to September 7.
The vintage experienced a rainy spring, followed by a summer without heatwaves, featuring cool nights and warm days—ideal conditions for developing excellent aromatic potential. True to the estate's signature style for white wines, this 100% Sauvignon Blanc is vinified in oak barrels and then aged for 10 months on total lees with stirring (bâtonnage), 35% of which in new barrels. The oak remains subtle, primarily adding richness and complexity.
The wine has a pale yellow color with delicate green reflections. The elegant and expressive nose opens with apricot and nectarine, highlighted by hints of brioche and gingerbread. The palate is charming and balanced: the rich, velvety attack gives way to a taut finish, where a saline minerality extends the pleasure.
