DESCRIPTION
With nearly a thousand years of history, Château La Tour de Mons is one of the oldest estates in the Margaux appellation. Acquired by the Perrodo family in 2020, this estate, nestled within a preserved enclosure, is currently experiencing a magnificent renaissance. Its vines grow on Garonne gravel and clay-limestone soils, a terroir that gives the wines a somewhat unique personality within the appellation. For this 2022 vintage, the grapes were harvested entirely by hand, vinified in stainless steel vats, and then aged in French oak barrels, a portion of which were new.
The blend, dominated by Merlot and complemented by Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc, yields a round, fresh, and indulgent wine. The nose seduces with notes of flowers, violets, and black fruits, while the palate, juicy and balanced, unfolds with crisp black fruits carried by silky tannins and a lovely freshness on the finish.
