DESCRIPTION
In Teuillac, in the heart of the Côtes de Bourg, Lucie and Stéphane Donze passionately cultivate Château Martinat, a small family estate where every action counts. On their well-exposed clay soils, they tend to mature vines: much of the work is done by hand, grass grows freely between the rows, and yields are kept intentionally low to preserve the best of the grapes. In the cellar, pressing is carried out gently and fermentation at a low temperature to preserve the freshness and vibrancy of the fruit. The result is a white wine produced in small quantities that blends two complementary grape varieties. Sauvignon Blanc provides its liveliness and bright character.
Sauvignon Gris, which is rarer, adds roundness and beautiful richness. In the glass, the nose opens with aromas of citrus and exotic fruits, indulgent and expressive. On the palate, the wine is fresh, lively, and very pleasant to drink.
It maintains a lovely balance right through to a surprisingly rich finish, where the Sauvignon Gris reveals its full generosity. It is a luminous and thirst-quenching white, ideal as an aperitif with friends. It also pairs well at the table with seafood, a platter of oysters, or grilled fish, and is a perfect match for any moment of sharing.
