DESCRIPTION
A family estate since 1889, Clos Bourgelat is now managed by Antoine Lafosse. Its 14.91 hectares, certified High Environmental Value, extend over silica-gravelly soils resting on limestone, in the small Cérons appellation, neighboring Barsac and Sauternes. The vines are 60 years old.
This sweet wine is made from 100% Sémillon. The harvest is manual: only berries affected by noble rot are picked, through successive passes and plot selection. The wine is then aged for 18 months.
The color is an intense gold. The nose evokes toasted bread, candied fruits, and roasted pineapple. On the palate, it is voluptuous, with beautiful freshness and floral and citrus notes.
