DESCRIPTION
This wine pays homage to the rich terroir of Roussillon. Located in the south-western part of France, near the Spanish border, this land breathes the fragrances of the Mediterranean sea. The grapes are harvested by hand, at peak ripeness, then sorted grain by grain. This blend of Grenache Blanc (65%) and Carignan Blanc (35%) undergoes direct pressing in a cellar and alcoholic fermentation in new oak barrels, made by the best stave cutters in France. The wine is then aged on the lees for 12 months in French oak barrels, with regular stirring. The bouquet of this wine is complex. Aromas of fresh fruit are mixed with fragrant spices, cardamom and linden. On the palate, the attack is both generous and fruity, while the finish is mineral-forward and pleasant. A nice balance is struck between the wine’s fresh acidity and intense aromas. This is a fine, gastronomical wine, with great ageing capacity for a white wine (approx. 5 years). To be paired with white fish on the grill.

Le Languedoc-Roussillon est l’une des plus vastes régions viticoles françaises, située à la frontière avec l’Espagne. Sa grande superficie s’accompagne d’une remarquable diversité de sols et de terroirs, tous baignés par un climat méditerranéen chaud et ensoleillé, particulièrement favorable à la culture de la vigne. Cette richesse se reflète aussi dans les cépages cultivés, qui vont du Cabernet Sauvignon au Carignan pour les rouges, ou du Grenache Blanc au Bourboulenc pour les blancs.
Mais le Roussillon, en particulier, se distingue aussi par une spécialité historique et profondément locale : les vins doux naturels (VDN). Élaborés à partir de cépages comme le Grenache, le Macabeu ou le Muscat, ces vins sont mutés à l’alcool pendant la fermentation pour conserver une partie de leurs sucres naturels. Les appellations emblématiques comme Banyuls, Maury, Rivesaltes ou encore Muscat de Rivesaltes offrent une incroyable palette de styles, du plus fruité au plus oxydatif, parfaits aussi bien à l’apéritif qu’avec des fromages ou des desserts.
