The cuvée "Terre de 1248" refers to the historical date of the collapse of Mont Granier, which shaped the unique terroir of Les Abymes. Born from the expertise of Domaine Labbé (and its structure Terres de 1248), this cuvée is sourced from Jacquère vines planted in the clay-limestone sector of "Les Bisplaines," cultivated with an increasingly natural approach.
The vinification seeks to transcend the usual lightness of Jacquère to give it breadth. Thanks to rigorous plot selection and temperature control, the estate produces a white wine that is more easy-drinking and aromatic than the appellation's standard, while conserving the characteristic liveliness of the grape variety.
The 2022 vintage is distinguished by a very aromatic and enveloping palate, revealing intense notes of yellow fruits, ripe apricots, and dried fruits. Endowed with beautiful length, it will perfectly accompany a thin tart with eggplant and Beaufort, or a pork mignon (tenderloin) with citrus fruits.

France
Savoie is a mountainous French wine region located near the Swiss border. The region is very fragmented by its mountainous terrain. The cool climate of Savoie dictates the predominance of crisp white wines produced in the region. Despite the difficulty of reds to mature in this type of climate, Savoie is the home of Mondeuse, a red grape variety used to make wines with a significant bitterness.

Very pleasantly surprised by this Abymes. It has much more flavor than the ones I usually drink, with a real fruity character.
