History
The NSCR (Nouvelle Société de la Côte Radieuse), founded in 2006 in Rivesaltes, has become a key player in promoting the great Vins Doux Naturels of Roussillon. By working with old vintages, some dating back to the 1930s, the house preserves a rare and traditional expertise. This Rivesaltes Ambré 1975 perfectly embodies this heritage mission, offering a wine full of history and memory.
Vinification
Made from Grenache and Macabeu, this vintage was crafted according to the traditional VDN method: mutage on the must to preserve natural sugars, followed by long oxidative aging in old oak barrels. After nearly 50 years of maturation, it has reached a remarkable level of aromatic complexity, enriched by the slow patina of time.
Tasting Notes
The deep copper-colored robe announces uncompromising richness. The nose is captivating with notes of roasted coffee, burnt sugar, dried figs, dates, and gentle spices. On the palate, the texture is rich and decadent yet perfectly balanced by a thread of freshness that prevents heaviness. The finish is long and warm, revealing a noble and subtle rancio.
Enjoy with seared foie gras, a walnut and caramel tart, honeyed oriental pastries, or simply at the end of a meal for a moment of contemplation.
