Our wines from Portugal

A little gem, this Portugal! With its breathtaking landscapes and vibrant way of life, the country is also home to one of Europe’s oldest wine regions. It’s simple: every valley holds a secret, every grape variety sings its own tune. In the Douro Valley, birthplace of Port wine, you’ll find deep reds and vibrant whites grown on steep terraces overlooking the river. Savor the elegance of a Touriga Nacional, the freshness of a Vinho Verde, or the richness of a long-aged Dão. With unique native grapes and a disarming authenticity, Portuguese wines are on the rise… and we couldn’t be happier!

Our wines from Portugal

Portugal’s Great Wine Regions

From the mountainous north to the Atlantic south, Portugal dazzles with the diversity of its terroirs and the uniqueness of its grape varieties.

The Douro : An iconic region and UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, and Touriga Franca are grown on dizzyingly steep slopes. The result? Full-bodied, well-balanced reds, often barrel-aged and perfect for cellaring.

Vinho Verde: In the northwest, this region produces light, zesty whites with a slight spritz—ideal as an aperitif or with seafood.

Dao: Nestled between mountains and forests, this region offers elegant, fresh, mineral wines with great aging potential.

Alentejo: A vast, sun-drenched plain in the south, known for its round, generous reds. A haven for accessible and food-friendly wines.

Barrada & Lisbao: Two rising-star regions, recognized for their fine sparkling wines, Baga-based reds, and saline, expressive whites.

Portuguese Grapes: An Underrated Treasure

With over 250 native grape varieties, Portugal is truly one of a kind. Some of our favorites:

REDS: Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz (Tempranillo), Baga, Castelão, Alfrocheiro

WHITES: Arinto, Loureiro, Alvarinho, Encruzado, Fernão Pires

FOR SPARKLING OR FORTIFIED WINES: Gouveio, Malvasia Fina, Sercial (Madeira), Moscatel

Which Style of Portuguese Wine Should You Choose?

Structured and spicy reds (Douro, Dão): Perfect with grilled meats, slow-cooked dishes, or aged cheeses.

Sun-kissed, round reds (Alentejo): Ideal with southern cuisine or a relaxed tapas night.

Fresh, mineral whites (Vinho Verde, Dão): Pair beautifully with seafood, grilled fish, or fresh cheeses.

Fortified wines (Port, Madeira): A must for dessert or alongside a great blue cheese.
