Vintage Armagnacs

Discover an exceptional collection of vintage Armagnacs from Maison Baron Gaston Legrand, located in the heart of Bas-Armagnac in the village of Lannepax—the historic birthplace of this emblematic French eau-de-vie. Founded over 120 years ago and acquired in 1998 by the Lhéraud family, the estate preserves an ancestral savoir-faire and guards a true library of rare eaux-de-vie.

This unique collection features three remarkable styles of Armagnac: Bas-Armagnac, Vieil Armagnac, and Ténarèze, each expressing the singular character of its terroir.

Bas-Armagnac

Recognized as the noblest cru of the appellation, Bas-Armagnac is defined by its sandy-clay soils—known as sables fauves—and its mild oceanic climate, both of which bring finesse and exceptional aromatic richness to the eaux-de-vie.

The vintages range from 1960 to 2010, revealing harmonious aromas of walnut, prune, fern, vanilla and dried fruit, with generous roundness and remarkable elegance.

Vieil Armagnac

The Vieil Armagnac collection (vintages 1925–1952) represents the oldest treasures of the estate. These century-old or near-century-old spirits display extraordinary depth, with notes of noble rancio, exotic wood, blond tobacco, undergrowth, truffle and rare spices.

Some vintages, such as 1929, reveal unique aromas of orange peel, honey and mandarin, while 1944 captivates with its velvety texture and hints of violet and cinnamon.

Ténarèze

The Ténarèze Armagnacs (vintages 1971–2002), produced in the second cru of the appellation, offer a powerful and expressive aromatic profile.

Bottled at Brut de Fût strength, they reveal an intense nose of spiced butter and dried fruit, a bold and structured palate supported by rich tannins, and a harmonious finish with spicy and vanilla notes.

Aging & Distillation

Distilled with care using the traditional low-temperature method and aged for long periods in Gascon oak casks (from Limousin and Monlezun), Baron Gaston Legrand Armagnacs develop a deep and complex aromatic palette: candied fruit, plum, prune, walnut, vanilla, honey, sweet spices, tobacco, leather, roasted coffee and cocoa.

Each bottle tells a unique story—a genuine journey through time that celebrates Gascon tradition and the finest French art of living.

Combining history, authenticity and refinement, these exceptional Armagnacs will delight collectors and enthusiasts seeking rare and prestigious spirits, perfect as a digestif or paired with refined gastronomic dishes.
