Agustín Lanús

In the heights of the Argentinian Andes, where the air becomes rarer and the landscapes reach spectacular dimensions, the Agustín Lanús estate pushes the limits of viticulture. Specializing in the production of wines from high altitude vineyards, this visionary project is an ode to the diversity and richness of Argentina's extreme terroirs.

The man behind the estate: Agustín Lanús

Agustín Lanús, a passionate oenologist and explorer of heights, has dedicated his career to revealing the potential of vineyards located at exceptional altitudes, often between 1,700 and 3,300 meters above sea level. Fascinated by the challenges presented by these isolated regions, he traveled through the valleys of the Andes to identify the best terroirs and work hand in hand with small local producers.

Its approach is based on a simple but powerful philosophy: exploiting the particularities of each high-altitude terroir to produce unique wines, capable of reflecting the essence of their origin.

The terroir of the high andes: a unique land of expression

Agustín Lanús vineyards are located primarily in the Salta region, in the Calchaquíes Valley, a region known for its desert landscapes, extreme temperatures and vineyards perched at dizzying altitudes.
At these heights, the climate is marked by strong thermal amplitudes between day and night, favoring slow ripening of the grapes. This dynamic gives the wines exceptional concentration, intense aromas and vibrant acidity.

The vineyard soils, composed of sand, stones and clay, are poor in nutrients, forcing the vines to develop deep roots. This results in high quality grapes, rich in character and minerality.

Altitude wines: a palette of flavors and emotions

Agustín Lanús focuses on iconic Argentine grape varieties, such as Malbec, while exploring lesser-known varieties such as Torrontés and Criolla. Each wine is an authentic interpretation of the terroir from which it comes.

Sunal: the pure expression of altitude

The Sunal range is the culmination of Agustín Lanús’ vision. These wines are produced from vineyards located at extreme altitudes, some exceeding 3,000 meters. Sunal Ilógico Malbec is an iconic wine, with deep aromas of black fruits, spicy notes and a mineral finish.

Torrontés: the white treasure of the andes

Torrontés, a typical white grape variety from Argentina, finds a new dimension in the high altitude vineyards. Agustín Lanús produces a vibrant and aromatic Torrontés, with notes of white flowers, peach and refreshing acidity.

Criolla: a historic grape variety reinvented

With a desire to preserve local traditions, the estate also offers wines made from Criolla, an ancient South American grape variety. The modern interpretation of Agustín Lanús reveals wines that are light, fruity and perfect for lovers looking for something new.

Sustainable and responsible viticulture

Working in isolated and preserved regions implies a particular responsibility towards the environment and local communities. Agustín Lanús is committed to sustainable viticulture, using organic methods and limiting its ecological footprint.

The estate also works closely with local producers, promoting their ancestral know-how while offering them new economic opportunities. This community approach guarantees the sustainability of the vineyards and respect for regional traditions.
