Quinta da Romaneira Vintage Port 2011 MAGNUM is the 1.5L format of one of the greatest Port vintages of the 21st century. The 2011 vintage is unanimously acclaimed as exceptional, yielding wines of remarkable intensity and purity. Rated 95 points by Wine Spectator, describing an exuberant style of raspberry, dark cherry and currant, of admirable purity and freshness. Ultra-limited production of 750 cases for the standard format. In the heart of the Douro Valley, Quinta da Romaneira embodies history and viticultural excellence. Already celebrated in the 19th century, this iconic estate entered a new era in 2004 thanks to a group of passionate investors, including Christian Seely, director of the Axa Millésimes properties including the renowned Quinta do Noval. Under the visionary direction of Seely and Antonio Agrellos, one of Portugal's most award-winning winemakers, the property has regained its former glory. Its 85 hectares of terraced vineyards on schist soils reveal the finest red grape varieties of the Douro, with Touriga Nacional covering nearly 40% of the vineyard.
On the nose, floral aromas of raspberry, dark cherry and currant, of remarkable purity and freshness. The minerally midpalate reveals notes of mocha and pepper on a long, muscular finish.
