DESCRIPTION
Flagship of Laura Catena and Roy Urvieta, Domaine Nico Grand Mère 2022 embodies excellence in high-altitude Pinot Noir. From Burgundian clones (667 and 115) cultivated at 1120m on loamy soils of Tupungato, this wine reveals the unique potential of Argentine terroirs.
On the nose, it seduces with aromas of wild flowers, dried red berries and blackcurrant, accompanied by subtle black pepper notes. The palate, elegant and fresh, unveils silky texture offering beautiful length and refined finish.
Aged 14 months in François Frères barrels (10% new), it expresses structure and finesse. A wine of character to serve with red tuna tataki or roasted quail with figs. Its aging potential of 10 years promises remarkable evolution.
REGION
Mendoza
Argentina
Mendoza is the largest wine-producing region in Argentina. Located on a high plateau on the edge of the Andes, the province is responsible for approximately 70% of the country's annual wine production. The French grape variety Malbec has its New World home in the vineyards of Mendoza, producing red wines of great concentration and intensity. While Malbec is undoubtedly the star of the region, there are also numerous plantings of Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Syrah, Torrontes and Sauvignon Blanc.
