DESCRIPTION
Elpidios is the flagship red wine from the David & Nadia estate, a blend of Grenache, Syrah, and Carignan sourced from a dozen parcels in the Swartland, grown on granite, schist, and clay soils around the Paardeberg massif. Vinified with a notable proportion of whole clusters for long, gentle extraction, it is aged for several months in foudres, older barrels, and concrete vats, then refined in the bottle before release.
The nose, spicy and taut, blends red currant and pink grapefruit with herbal and peppery notes derived from the whole clusters. The palate is tonic and fresh, carried by fine, grainy tannins that stretch into a long finish. Serve at around 16°C with a leg of lamb or spicy grilled meats.

Between brilliant light, varied soils, and a temperate climate, this region produces wines that are elegant, pure, and intensely expressive.
