DESCRIPTION
This Pais originates from San Ignacio de Palomares, Ránquil, Itata Valley and comes from vines estimated to be 150 years old on granite soils on the slopes of the Cordillera. After fermentation, the wine is aged in old oak barrels and stainless steel vats for 18 months.

The Itata valley is located in the Ñuble region, in the middle of Chili. It is one of the oldest wine making areas in the country. The term itself means “abundant pasture” in indigenous Mapuche. The soil in this floodplain is sandy and rich in minerals and volcanic sediment. These natural elements contribute to the viticulture of Itata’s traditional grape varieties, país (red) and muscat (white). Other grape varieties cultivated and harvested in the area are Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Carménère, Merlot, Semillon and Alicante Bouschet (or Tintorera).
