DESCRIPTION
This Gigondas from Maison Lavau originates from the cretaceous limestone plots on the foothills of the appellation. With northern exposure, these plots are the perfect partner for old vines of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre. The bouquet is full of the typical flavours of the Gigondas appellation like blackcurrant and raspberry jam. It is then intensified by notes of spice (black pepper and nutmeg). The palate is voluptuous, solid and long-lasting. To be paired with guinea fowl, a coq au vin, a beef stew or any spice-forward meal.

REGION
Rhône
France

The Rhône Valley is a historic cradle of French winemaking, stretching from Lyon to Provence and home to over 5,000 estates. In the north, steep hillsides yield intensely expressive Syrahs (Côte-Rôtie, Hermitage) and outstanding whites like Condrieu, made from Viognier. Further south, the diversity of soils—rolled pebbles, sand, and slopes—gives rise to powerful, generous reds (Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Gigondas) based on Grenache, Mourvèdre, and Syrah. A gastronomic heartland, the region offers endless unforgettable food and wine pairings.
