DESCRIPTION
The Waihopai Valley in the Marlborough region is cooler and drier than other parts of the region. Catalina Sounds’ Sound of White vineyard boasts gentle winemaking and hand-picked harvesting. The growing season for this Chardonnay was everything a winemaker could ask for: clean fruit, low yields, and beautiful concentration. Here is a wine finely layered with baking spices and stone fruits, with hints of chalk, hazelnut and creamy vanilla. Meanwhile, the palate is energised by a vibrant acidity, an elegant minerality and a long finish. This Chardonnay is the perfect partner for a ceviche, goat cheese, salmon or a creamy pasta dish.
