In the cool, dry Waihopai Valley in Marlborough, Catalina Sounds’ Sound of White vineyard crafts wines that let the terroir speak. This New Zealand Chardonnay comes from hand-harvested grapes, with a gentle approach: delicate pressing, natural fermentation in 500 L barrels, then 11 months of aging on fine lees to build texture and complexity.
The result? An intense and refined New Zealand Chardonnay, awarded 92 points by Wine Enthusiast, combining dessert spices, stone fruit, chalk, roasted hazelnut, and a hint of vanilla. On the palate, vibrant acidity and elegant minerality stretch into a long, lingering finish. A perfect match for ceviche, roasted salmon, goat cheese, or creamy pasta.

New Zealand
Marlborough is by far New Zealand’s most important wine region. Located at the northeastern tip of the South Island, this dry, sunny region is home to over 500 wineries and produces nearly 75% of New Zealand’s wine. Warm days, cool nights, and well-drained alluvial soils create ideal conditions for aromatic wines with crisp acidity.
It is here that the Marlborough style of Sauvignon Blanc was born, a style that has taken the world by storm: vibrant, intensely fruity, with herbal notes and a saline minerality. While Sauvignon Blanc dominates, Marlborough also produces excellent Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Riesling, cementing its reputation as New Zealand’s international wine showcase.
This is a polished Chardonnay with freshness and restraint. It offers citrus zest, green apple, and a touch of roasted almond, underpinned by a creamy texture and saline edge. Elegant and quietly complex.
Honestly, this drinks like a wine twice its price. The oak is beautifully integrated, and there’s a lovely creamy note balanced by zingy acidity. Good value for money, especially given the complexity and structure. Definitely buying again.
This is exactly the kind of Chardonnay I love—elegant, balanced, and full of character. The flinty edge and citrusy brightness keep it super fresh, while the texture adds just the right amount of weight. It’s a serious wine, but still very approachable.

This Marlborough Chardonnay offers lovely aromatic complexity. I like its citrus notes and refreshing minerality. The palate is precise, with acidity that structures the whole.
