From the Domaine Mas de Lavail, this Pays d’OC wine is made up of 80% Grenache Noir and 20% Mourvèdre grapes. It is hand-picked and vinified in oak barrels. Ego's bouquet is filled with tart cherries and sweet spices. Here we've got a fine mix of soft tanins and a rich, full-bodied finish on your tongue. This wine pairs wonderfully with roasts, steak and sauce-heavy dishes.

Languedoc Roussillon is one of the largest wine regions in France, on the border with Spain. Its size goes hand in hand with a remarkable diversity of soils and terroirs, all bathed in a warm, sunny Mediterranean climate that is especially favourable to vines. This richness also shows in the grapes grown, from Cabernet Sauvignon to Carignan for reds, and from Grenache Blanc to Bourboulenc for whites.
Roussillon in particular also stands out for a historic, deeply local speciality: vins doux naturels (VDN). Made from grapes such as Grenache, Macabeu and Muscat, these wines are fortified during fermentation to keep part of their natural sugars. Iconic appellations such as Banyuls, Maury, Rivesaltes and Muscat de Rivesaltes offer an incredible range of styles, from the fruitiest to the most oxidative, perfect as an aperitif or with cheese and desserts.
