The Desierto 25 Pinot Noir 2021 from Bodega del Desierto is an Argentinian Pinot Noir with Patagonian character, drawn from the arid landscapes of La Pampa.

Vinified with precision and aged for three months in French oak, it reveals a style that is at once fresh, elegant and approachable. A bright strawberry-red robe gives way to an expressive nose of cherry, lifted by notes of almond and a touch of minerality. On the palate, the balance is particularly well-judged: fruit, tension and a supple texture that brings real moreishness.

It pairs beautifully with full-flavoured fish, white meats or semi-hard cheeses. A precise, easy-drinking Pinot Noir, ideal for discovering another side of Argentinian wine.

Jujuy is the northernmost wine region in Argentina. It is in Uquía, a town in the province of Jujuy, that you will find the highest vineyards in the world, reaching up to 3,329 metres above sea level. It is a very small wine region and so does not produce as much wine for export as its neighbours. A shame, since the wines are powerful and beautifully balanced. The most planted grapes are Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Merlot. Expect aromas of pepper and blackcurrant, then, with age, notes of forest floor and spice.
