DESCRIPTION
Arcana's mission is to preserve a unique heritage, that of the traditional Itata grape varieties, through the most natural winemaking methods focused on the sincerity of the fruit. Behind Arcana is Alberto Barra, a mechanical engineer by profession and a winemaker by passion. His goal is to preserve a heritage of Semillon vines planted 150 years ago. It is a Semillon of great richness, with floral and fruity notes, a good weight on the palate, making it highly gastronomic both for its elegance and complexity.

Chili
The Itata valley is located in the Ñuble region, in the middle of Chili. It is one of the oldest wine making areas in the country. The term itself means “abundant pasture” in indigenous Mapuche. The soil in this floodplain is sandy and rich in minerals and volcanic sediment. These natural elements contribute to the viticulture of Itata’s traditional grape varieties, país (red) and muscat (white). Other grape varieties cultivated and harvested in the area are Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Carménère, Merlot, Semillon and Alicante Bouschet (or Tintorera).
