DESCRIPTION
Flagship of historic Gomez Cruzado estate (1886), El Predilecto 2022 embodies Rioja's modernity. This blend (65% Grenache, 35% Tempranillo) from old vines at the foot of mountains framing the Ebro valley reveals the expertise of David Gonzales and Juan Antonio Leza.
On the nose, it seduces with aromas of ripe red fruits, cherry and raspberry, enhanced by sweet spices and light oak. The palate, balanced and round, unveils supple tannins and remarkable freshness finishing with long, elegant finale.
Aged 6 months in concrete vats, it favors fruity expression. A versatile wine to serve with grilled ribeye or herb-crusted rack of lamb. Its aging potential of 10 years promises graceful evolution.

Rioja in Northern Spain is arguably Spain's top wine region. It is best known for berry-scented, barrel-aged red wines made from Tempranillo and Garnacha. Rioja has 3 official sub-regional growing areas and they are Rioja Alta, Rioja Baja and Rioja Alavesa. Although it’s uncommon to find wines labeled with these names, it’s very common to hear aficionados talk of the greatness of Rioja Alta or Rioja Alavesa. And while it’s true that many of the great wines or Rioja come from these 2 areas, you can still find incredible wines from Rioja Baja, depending on the producer and the vineyard’s position within the region.
