DESCRIPTION
The tannins on this Châteauneuf-du-Pape are as soft as goose down. This red wine from the Rhône Valley was aged for 10 months in an oak cask and 10 more months in an oak vat. This mixed ageing process allows for the wine to acquire more body, while still remaining soft on the tongue. This Châteauneuf is a blend of Grenache (75%), Mourvèdre (10%), Syrah (10%), and Cinsault (5%). It expresses comforting aromas of blackcurrant and cherry, with slight hints of licorice and spices. This wine is the perfect match for venison with mushrooms, a leg of lamb, duck with porcini mushrooms, or goat cheese or Ousso-Iraty.
