Fantin Nodar is located in a unique area of the Friuli Colli Orientali appellation, rising above terraced slopes composed of ponca—the local term for hills formed by alternating layers of marl and sandstone. This distinctive terroir provides the perfect foundation for cultivating the Friulano grape, known for producing wines with refined minerality and a characteristic aroma of bitter almond, complemented by notes of white fruits and wildflowers.
Fantin Nodar’s Friulano offers a delicate balance of freshness and complexity, making it an ideal pairing for appetizers, fish dishes, or white meats. Its elegant profile and versatility make it a standout choice for those seeking to explore the authentic flavors of Friuli Colli Orientali.
Italy
Renowned for its rich, ripe Pinot Grigio, the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region boasts over thirty grape varieties, both native and international. Emblematic varieties include Friulano, Ribolla Gialla and Malvasia Istriana, which produce dry white wines with good natural acidity, perfectly reflecting the minerality and salinity of Friulian soils. In reds, Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso and Schioppettino offer structured, spicy wines deeply rooted in their terroir. Alongside them, international varieties such as Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc have found their place and express their unique character here.
The region's geographical diversity is reflected in its wine styles: in the north, the temperate continental climate favors fresh, floral whites, while the areas closer to the sea, such as Isonzo and Carso, produce taut, saline and mineral wines, perfect for accompanying seafood, grilled fish or Slavic-inspired dishes.
Finally, Friuli is also one of the historic cradles of Prosecco, the refreshing sparkling white wine now famous the world over.
Light yet expressive, this Friulano is all about balance. Notes of citrus, green apple, and almond skin play across the palate, with a clean, zesty finish. A great wine to pair with seafood, risotto, or prosciutto.
Beautifully balanced between fruit and mineral notes. The pale straw color and light green reflections made it look very inviting. On the palate, it was fresh and lively with a clean, almond-flavored finish. Highly recommended!
Anne-Sarine - Local Nose
A dry white wine that retains lovely suppleness, very elegant.
