Beaumont Far Side Mourvèdre 2021 is sourced from a small, low-yielding parcel (2 to 4 t/ha) on the shale soils of Bot River. Aged for 18 months in French oak barrels followed by 18 months in the bottle, it features 12% alcohol and 2.5 g/L of residual sugar. This Mourvèdre of character embodies the excellence of Beaumont Family Wines.
On the nose, rich and ripe black fruits are accompanied by delicate spicy notes. The palate offers a firm structure, supported by silky tannins, with a long and savory finish. Pairs beautifully with a chorizo paella or a grilled ribeye steak with pepper sauce.
South Africa
Located on the southern coast of the Western Cape, Walker Bay is one of South Africa’s coolest and most renowned wine regions. Bathed in sea air and sheltered by surrounding mountains, it enjoys a temperate climate ideal for producing wines of great finesse.
Walker Bay is a paradise for delicate grape varieties: Pinot Noir and Chardonnay find their balance in the hills of Hemel-en-Aarde (Valley, Ridge, Upper), while Bot River stands out for its saline, vibrant Chenin Blancs. Between brilliant light, varied soils, and a temperate climate, this region produces wines that are elegant, pure, and intensely expressive.
Jerome - Local Nose
This 2021 is more ethereal than its predecessor, with a silkiness that envelops the fruit and spices.
