The 2020 Barbaresco Roncaglie DOCG from the Poderi Colla family perfectly expresses the nobility of the Nebbiolo grape. The Roncaglie Estate, celebrated for centuries as one of Barbarescoâs historic crus, produces grapes of remarkable consistency, capable of crafting wines of extraordinary elegance and harmony.
Hand-harvested, the grapes undergo a 12â15 day maceration at 30âŻÂ°C, followed by complete malolactic fermentation. The wine is then aged 12â14 months in large Slavonian oak barrels, preserving the aromatic finesse and signature character of the cru.
Its deep garnet color preludes a complex bouquet of blackberries, spices, violet, wild rose, and forest floor. On the palate, it is rich, enveloping, and intense, supported by silky, lingering tannins. A classic and refined Barbaresco, awarded 95 points by Wine Enthusiast, combining personality, balance, and 10â15 years of aging potential.
Serve at 15â17âŻÂ°C in a large glass, paired with roasted red meats, game birds, or porcini risotto. An amazing Piedmontese wine for those who appreciate depth, elegance, and sophistication.
