The Story
From the Lannepax terroir, the historical cradle of Armagnac, the Baron Gaston Legrand 1979 vintage embodies the timeless nobility of the Ténarèze region. Patiently aged in oak barrels, this Cask Strength (Brut de Fût) testifies to the ancestral expertise of the house founded over a century ago, now under the aegis of Maison Cognac Lhéraud.
The Vinification
Distilled according to the rules of the art, this Armagnac has aged for over four decades in oak barrels in the heart of the traditional cellars. The clay-limestone soils of Ténarèze lend this vintage an exceptional structure and aging capacity. The Cask Strength (Brut de Fût) aging allows the eau-de-vie (spirit) to achieve a rare complexity, while retaining an impressive freshness.
The Tasting
The Ténarèze Armagnac 1979, presented as Cask Strength (Brut de Fût), is a vintage of great nobility. The nose is powerful and deep, revealing aromas of spice butter and dried fruits. On the palate, the attack is direct and balanced, supported by rich and well-integrated tannins. Subtle, elegant, and highly aromatic, this eau-de-vie exhibits exceptional length and finishes with a fine spicy touch, offering a tasting experience full of balance and refinement.

France

A great vintage for a birthday gift! Very fine despite its power. The length on the palate is remarkable; you can feel the work of time.
