The Story
In the heart of Bas-Armagnac, Maison Baron Gaston Legrand, founded in Lannepax over a century ago, perpetuates the art of vintage eaux-de-vie. This 1967 vintage perfectly embodies the elegance of the Gascon terroir: a spirit patiently aged in oak barrels for several decades, where time has chiseled every nuance. Today, the Lhéraud family watches over this living heritage, a symbol of rare and timeless expertise.
The Vinification
Distilled at a low proof according to the traditional method, this Bas Armagnac has aged extensively in oak barrels, allowing for natural micro-oxygenation and complex aromatic development. The sandy-clay soils known as « sables fauves » (tawny sands) impart finesse and balance to the eau-de-vie, which is distinguished by its power and subtlety.
The Tasting
The Bas Armagnac Baron Gaston Legrand 1967 is captivating with its warm nose of spice butter, dried fruits, and vanilla, enhanced by touches of fern. On the palate, the eau-de-vie is round, generous, and perfectly balanced between power and finesse. The finish, long and elegant, prolongs the woody and fruity aromas, making this vintage a great Armagnac to savor or keep.

France
