The Story
At the heart of Bas-Armagnac, Maison Baron Gaston Legrand, founded in Lannepax over a century ago, perpetuates the art of vintage eaux-de-vie. This 1988 vintage perfectly embodies the elegance of the Gascon terroir: a spirit patiently aged in oak barrels for several decades, where time has chiseled every nuance. Today, the Lhéraud family watches over this living heritage, a symbol of rare and timeless expertise.
The Vinification
Distilled at low proof according to the traditional method and aged for a long time in Gascon oak barrels, the Bas Armagnac 1988 benefits from barrel aging that ensures controlled micro-oxygenation and aromatic development. The wood enriches the palette with vanilla, woody, and spicy notes, resulting in a round, harmonious, and balanced palate.
The Tasting
The 1988 vintage captivates with an elegant and complex nose featuring woody, vanilla, and cocoa notes, enhanced by sweet spices. On the palate, it proves to be generous, with a harmonious and deep texture. Its moderately dark amber color testifies to long aging, while the fresh finish elegantly prolongs the aromas and invites a second taste.

France
