DESCRIPTION
Francis Ford Coppola Director's Cut Chardonnay 2022 is sourced from the most remarkable plots of the Sonoma Coast, benefiting from an oceanic climate extending from Carneros to the Russian River Valley. The moderately warm days and cool nights allow for a slow and steady ripening. Aged for 7 months in French, American, and Hungarian oak barrels, pH 3.54, total acidity 5.5 g/L. 99.84% Chardonnay. Founded by the legendary filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola, the estate was born out of his love for wine and family memories. In 1974, Coppola acquired a historic property in Rutherford, Napa Valley, using the profits from The Godfather. In 2006, he opened a second winery in Geyserville, in the Sonoma region. With iconic ranges like the Diamond Collection, Coppola combines tradition, quality, and accessibility, embodying the elegance of Californian wine.
On the nose, intense notes of yellow apple, pineapple, and crème fraîche, complemented by subtle hints of vanilla and oak. On the palate, ample and balanced, with a beautiful zesty freshness, a creamy texture, and a long, delicate finish. It pairs perfectly with a creamy asparagus and parmesan risotto or a roasted sea bass fillet with beurre blanc. Cellaring potential of 10 years and more.

Sonoma Valley is an American wine region often recognized as the cradle of California viticulture. The valley is the driest part of Sonoma County due to the shelter provided by the mountains. The region is considered the source of Northern California's finest Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wines that benefit from the warm, sunny climate.
