DESCRIPTION
Glenelly Estate Reserve Rouge 2017 is the signature cuvée of the Glenelly estate, blending Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Merlot, and Petit Verdot from the varied soils (clay-limestone, shale, granitic) of Simonsberg. Fermented with whole bunches, macerated for 2 to 3 weeks, and then aged for 18 months in French oak barrels, it features 14.5% alcohol and 1.71 g/L of residual sugar.
On the nose, bold aromas of cassis, plum, cedar, blond tobacco, and lightly smoky notes. On the palate, rich and wonderful with fine tannins supported by fresh, ripe fruits and hints of spice. Pairs beautifully with a moussaka, spicy kebabs, or a lamb curry.
