DESCRIPTION
The Estate Reserve Syrah is the flagship red from the Lismore estate, sourced from very low-yield vines planted at an altitude of 300 meters on the foothills of the Sonderend Mountains in Greyton. This cool-climate terroir, refreshed by ocean breezes, allows for slow ripening, giving the grapes remarkable concentration and aromatic complexity, further enhanced by meticulous winemaking and aging.
The wine has a deep, brilliant color. The elegant, fragrant nose reveals white pepper, garrigue, and crushed violets, set against a refined aromatic framework reminiscent of the great Syrahs of the Northern Rhône. The palate is both fine and structured, with beautiful tension and a long, spicy finish. A wine for cellaring to be served at around 16-17°C, ideal with game, rib steak, or aged cheeses; it will improve over several years.
