Viu Manent Noble Semillon 2022 comes from vines over 100 years old in the San Carlos vineyard, blending 93% Semillon and 7% Viognier. Hand-harvested at full ripeness, with more than 96% noble botrytis, the grapes are whole-cluster pressed, fermented in stainless steel tanks, and then a portion is aged for 8 months in seasoned French barrels. This 2022 vintage stands out for its freshness, balance, and beautiful volume on the palate. Viu Manent is a family-owned house founded in 1935, renowned for its wines from the Colchagua Valley. The acquisition of its three vineyards in Colchagua in 1960, including San Carlos de Cunaco, the cradle of centenarian Malbec vines, forged the estate's identity. Today managed by the third generation and certified vegan, Viu Manent has been ranked among the World's Best Vineyards for seven consecutive years.
On the nose, a fresh and complex profile focused on white fruits (pear, stone fruits) with delicate hints of citrus on the finish. On the palate, a lively acidity that balances the structure and a generous, elegant finish. It pairs well with foie gras or delicate terrines, and an apple tart. Serve between 7 and 9°C. Aging potential of 6 years.
Chili
The Central Valley of Chile is the wine region in South America with the largest volume of wine production. A wide variety of wine styles and qualities can be found in this vast region, from many different terroirs. These range from the fashionable Bordeaux-style wines produced in the northern Maipo, to the older and more established vineyards of Maule; from the coastal plains of western Colchagua to the Andean foothills of Puente Alto.
