DESCRIPTION

Vasse Felix is a winery that focuses on quality and leads with a minimal intervention approach. The Filius Chardonnay is vibrant and focused, with a natural acidity that will make your mouth water. Simultaneously fruit-driven and savoury, notes of nashi pear, ripe peach, green apple and citrus peel are undercut with jasmine and limestone. The creamy, smooth palate is typical of an Australian Chardonnay, displaying lemon curd, green pawpaw and grapefruit. Winding up with salinity and freshness, this is a delicate, balanced and complex wine. Think seafood, fish and salad!

Le millésime 2021 de Filius montre la maîtrise Vasse Felix : un boisé subtil, un fruit pur, une texture crémeuse sans lourdeur. Belle fraîcheur en finale. Idéal à table comme à l’apéritif.

Un Chardonnay très bien équilibré : nez de citron, pêche blanche et noisette grillée. La bouche est tendue, finement boisée, avec une jolie minéralité. Un vin ciselé, à la fois sérieux et accessible.

Impressive quality for the price

For around €22, this is a steal. The subtle oak, fresh acidity, and flinty minerality give it a really polished feel. Would happily serve this at a dinner party or enjoy it on a weeknight. Great value and consistently good across vintages.

Elegant and expressive—perfect with food

Had this with roast chicken and it was spot on. Lovely aromas of pear and lemon curd, and a creamy mid-palate that leads to a bright, mineral finish. Vasse Felix really knows what they’re doing with Chardonnay.
