DESCRIPTION
The "Granite" cuvée is a bold experiment from Micro Winerie, seeking balance between Chenin Blanc's mineral tension and the contribution of barrel aging. The name evokes the rigor and structure the grape develops when handled with precision and aged for the long haul.
This 100% Chenin Blanc comes from organic, hand-harvested grapes. To give it structure and roundness, it undergoes careful aging for 8 months in barrels. This aging choice adds richer texture and subtle woody nuances without masking the wine's freshness. It's designed as a food wine with strong aging potential.
Granite 2024 is a dry, powerful, structured white. On the nose, yellow fruit, quince and honey mingle with delicate notes of vanilla and brioche from the barrel aging. The palate is broad and rich, yet the Chenin's vibrant acidity ensures length and balance. Its complexity pairs well with elaborate dishes like poultry in creamy sauce or aged cheeses.
REGION
Bordeaux
France
The Bordeaux region is likely not a secret for you, as it is one of the largest wine regions in France. Bordeaux has an oceanic climate that produces fabulous red wines of high quality. The main red grape varieties in the region are Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Despite the fact that 90% of its production volume are red wines, the region completes its wine showcase with a production of white wines, made from blends of Semillon or Sauvignon Blanc.
