DESCRIPTION

Tyrrell's is an award-winning Australian vineyard with a winemaking history that stretches back to 1864. Their Vat 47 Chardonnay is produced from grapes handpicked from both the oldest and youngest Chardonnay vines in the Tyrrell's vineyard, dating back to 1968 and 2001 respectively. Delicate and floral on the nose, white stone fruit and blossom are complemented by a subtle hint of oak. The palate packs a punch; powerful and taut, there's a length and intensity not often seen in Chardonnays. Perfect with poultry, salads or seafood.

The Hunter Valley is the iconic wine region of New South Wales and one of the oldest in Australia. The region is especially famous for two styles that have become classics: oak aged Chardonnay and dry, bright, taut Sémillon.

Produced since the 1870s, Hunter Valley Sémillon is seen as the purest expression of the grape in the New World. The best examples, such as those from Tyrrell's, are known for their crystalline freshness when young and their incredible ageing potential, developing notes of honey, toast and beeswax over time.
