The Story
Founded over a century ago in Lannepax, in the heart of Bas-Armagnac, Maison Baron Gaston Legrand embodies the noblest soul of Gascony. This 1926 vintage, hand-distilled and aged for nearly a century in oak barrels, bears witness to an unaltered expertise. Since 1998, the Lhéraud family has perpetuated this rare heritage, safeguarding a collection of historic vintages that make every bottle a true piece of history.
The Vinification
Distilled at a low proof according to the traditional Armagnac method, the Baron Gaston Legrand 1926 aged for long decades in Gascon oak barrels, where the richness of the sandy-clay soil of Bas-Armagnac is expressed. This prolonged aging allows for slow oxygenation, softening the structure and concentrating the aromas. Time has shaped a harmonious eau-de-vie, marked by woody notes, candied fruits, and vanilla, sublimated by a delicate rancio, the signature of great Gascon vintages.
The Tasting
The Vieil Armagnac Baron Gaston Legrand 1926 unveils a deep nose mingling dried fruits, prunes, nut, and blond honey, supported by a touch of mellowed oak. On the palate, the texture is supple but dense, carried by a beautiful tension and natural elegance. The aromas unfold with amplitude — candied fruits, cocoa, and sweet spices — before blossoming into a long, woody, and warm finish. An Armagnac of rare intensity, a true tribute to time and Gascon tradition.

France
