Bouchon Family Wines Mingre 2020 comes from carefully cultivated vines located 45 km from the Pacific Ocean on ancient granitic and clay soils, blending 40% Carmenère, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Syrah, and 10% Carignan. Aged for 18 to 24 months in French oak barrels, it reveals its full potential after an hour of decanting. The Bouchon saga began in 1887 with the arrival of Émile Bouchon in Chile. The family, established in the Colchagua region and later in the Maule region in 1977, perpetuates this history by breathing new life into old Maule grape varieties, such as País, rehabilitating centuries-old winemaking techniques, and paying close attention to the terroir. With three vineyards in Maule, the Bouchons adopt an organic approach, creating singular wines from vines grown without irrigation on ancient granitic soils.
On the nose, ripe fruits, tobacco, and graphite. On the palate, generous with perfectly balanced silky tannins. It pairs well with a grilled rib of beef or a venison stew with wild mushrooms. Serve between 16 and 18°C. Aging potential of 15 years and more.
Chili
The Central Valley of Chile is the wine region in South America with the largest volume of wine production. A wide variety of wine styles and qualities can be found in this vast region, from many different terroirs. These range from the fashionable Bordeaux-style wines produced in the northern Maipo, to the older and more established vineyards of Maule; from the coastal plains of western Colchagua to the Andean foothills of Puente Alto.
Nicolas - Local Nose
This complex and deep wine is an obvious choice for cellaring—a beautiful expression of the terroir.
