The 2020 Moonlight Race is crafted from a distinctive blend of Burn Cottage’s three vineyards: Lowburn, Sauvage, and Sappa (Bannockburn). Each vineyard contributes its unique character: lush fruit, elegant minerality, and refined aromatics combining to capture the vibrant essence of Central Otago.
On the nose, layers of black cherry and raspberry mingle with floral hints, subtle herbs, cocoa, and forest floor nuances. The palate is lively yet rich, with soft, textured tannins that carry the fruit forward into a long, savory finish.
Awarded 96 points by Wine Spectator, this New Zealand Pinot Noir is captivating now but can age gracefully for over 7 years. Perfect with a charcuterie and cheese platter, herb-roasted pork, or mushroom-based vegetarian dishes.
New Zealand
Central Otago, in the heart of New Zealand’s South Island, vies for the title of the world’s southernmost wine region. Between snow-capped mountains, sparkling rivers, and sheltered valleys, its spectacular vineyards cling to the hillsides as if suspended in a natural amphitheater.
Here, Pinot Noir reigns supreme, covering nearly three-quarters of the vineyard area. It expresses itself in a radiant, precise style, with intense aromas of doris plum, sweet spices, and bramble, with depth of color and structure that place it alongside Burgundy’s greatest terroirs. Chardonnay, Riesling, and Pinot Gris complete the picture, bringing freshness and elegance to this extraordinary region.
Ce vin met en valeur l'élégance et la profondeur du Pinot Noir, un cépage qui reflète parfaitement le terroir unique de la région.
Vibrant red fruit, violet, and dried thyme notes dance with fine tannins. Cool-climate purity and a luminous finish make this unforgettable.
Fragrant with wild herbs, dark cherry, and earthy spice. Silky yet structured, this Pinot glides across the palate with finesse. A benchmark for the region.
Nicolas - Local Nose
A Pinot Noir of great finesse. Aromas of ripe red fruits and soft spices. On the palate, the tannins are silky, and the finish is elegant.
