REGION

Tuscany

Italy

Tuscany is Italy's third most vine-planted region (behind Sicily and Apulia) but it is eighth in terms of output, reflecting both its poor soil and deliberate efforts to limit yields but increase the quality of the wine. After Piedmont and Veneto, Tuscany produces the third-highest volume of DOC/DOCG wines. More than 80% of the regions' production is in red wine, with the Sangiovese grape being Tuscany's' most prominent grape. Chianti, Chianti Classico, Brunello di Montalcino, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano and Super Tuscan are Tuscany’s best known wines, while Trebbiano is the leading white variety of the region.

Sangiovese with International Polish

Blending Sangiovese with Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, this 2012 vintage marries Tuscan terroir with Bordeaux-like depth. Expect notes of blackcurrant, balsamic herbs, cedar, and a hint of graphite—mature but still full of life.

Refined, Mature & Deeply Tuscan

The 2012 Ser Gioveto is a beautifully evolved Super Tuscan, showing aromas of dried cherry, leather, tobacco leaf, and earthy spice. The palate is smooth and structured, with well-integrated tannins and a lingering, savoury finish. A wine of elegance and quiet power.

Bold, Structured, and Rewarding

A deep ruby red with complex layers—black cherry, dried fig, tobacco, and cedar. The oak is present but integrated, and the tannins are refined. I had it with bistecca alla fiorentina and it was divine. This vintage still has life in it—elegant and balanced.
