The Story
Founded over a century ago in Lannepax, in the heart of Bas-Armagnac, Maison Baron Gaston Legrand embodies the noblest soul of Gascony. This 1945 vintage, hand-distilled and aged for nearly a century in oak barrels, bears witness to an unaltered expertise. Since 1998, the Lhéraud family has perpetuated this rare heritage, safeguarding a collection of historic vintages that make every bottle a true piece of history.
The Vinification
This exceptional vintage is made from the Ugni Blanc, Folle Blanche, and Baco Blanc grape varieties, distilled only once in a traditional still. The prolonged aging in Limousin and Monlezun oak barrels allows for slow and controlled micro-oxygenation, providing the spirit with a refined structure and a highly complex aromatic profile. The wood gradually releases vanilla and woody notes that harmonize seamlessly with the fruity and floral aromas of the distillate.
The Tasting
On the nose, the Vieil Armagnac 1945 is captivating with its delicate notes of prune, white flowers, and vanilla, accompanied by subtle touches of spices and caramel. On the palate, it stands out with a round and velvety texture, exceptional length, and a perfect harmony between sweetness and aromatic complexity. This rare vintage embodies the refinement and tradition of Bas-Armagnac, offering a memorable tasting experience for connoisseurs and collectors.

France
